Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Guardrails service, the Verilink’ed ledger, and related websites and APIs (collectively, the "Service") operated by Aegis LLC ("Aegis", "we", "us"). By creating an account, accepting these Terms during signup, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by them. If you are accepting on behalf of a company or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.

2. The Service

Guardrails is a proxy that sits between your application and a third-party AI provider (such as Anthropic or OpenAI). For each AI call routed through the Service, Guardrails creates a cryptographic fingerprint, signs it, and anchors a record of it to the Verilink’ed ledger so the interaction can later be verified.

Guardrails produces tamper-evident records intended to serve as evidence of what an AI interaction contained. It is a record-keeping and verification tool. It is not legal advice, does not by itself establish compliance with any law or regulation, and does not transfer or release any legal liability you may otherwise have.

3. Accounts and authorized users

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for all activity under your account. Company accounts may designate additional authorized users; the account owner is responsible for the actions of all authorized users and for promptly removing access when it is no longer appropriate. You must keep your credentials and API keys confidential.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the content of the requests and responses you route through the Service and for ensuring you have the right to process that content, including any personal or regulated data. You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any third-party provider’s terms.

5. Fees

Paid plans are billed in advance on the cadence shown at checkout. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated in writing. We may change pricing on renewal with notice.

6. Availability and disclaimers

We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aegis will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

8. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms. Records already anchored to the Verilink’ed ledger are append-only and remain on the ledger.
